You may be wondering how the employees get undertime minutes in the Attendance Report when they evidently completed their shift for the day. In this article, we will discuss how this happens in Sprout HR and how to resolve this.
You may encounter this discrepancy in the Attendance Report:
As you can see, the employee has Undertime of 418 minutes even though he completed his shift from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Now, if we take a look into his Work Schedule, you will notice that the Break Schedule is outside his shift:
Since the break schedule is outside his shift, the system is still looking for logs to complete the shift until the Break End. The only way to remove this undertime is to update the Break Schedule of the employee and make sure that it is within the shift. Once the shift is updated, you may generate the attendance again and you should see that the Undertime minutes are no longer reflected.
Take note that since we now have Date Tagging of Schedule, past attendance can only be updated via Schedule Adjustment. To prevent this error from reoccurring in the future, make sure to update the Default Schedule as well.
