OTP via Mobile allows Sprout HR web application users to receive their OTP on their mobile application. This is a new method of receiving the OTP similar to Email-based OTP and SMS-based OTP. This method requires the user to install and login to the Sprout HR mobile application to register their device. To know more about the other MFA methods, here are the articles that may help:
Installation Guide
For the users to receive the OTP via mobile application, they will have to download and install the Sprout HR mobile application via App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) on their device. They will need to be logged in before they can receive push notifications.

Limitation
The OTP via mobile is not available to Huawei devices with Google Services yet.
How to Enable OTP via Mobile
1. Go to Maintenance > Access Levels
2. After selecting Access Level, OTP (Mobile) can either be enabled or disabled according to access level and can be assigned to Admin, Manager, Employee, or Employee Simple dashboard.
Once enabled, employees with specific access levels will be able to log in the Sprout web application with OTP which can be sent to the mobile application.

Generating the OTP
Once the OTP via mobile is enabled for the user through the Access Level, the user will have to log in to the Sprout HR web application to generate the OTP.
Receiving the OTP
Upon logging in, users will be prompted to enter their OTP which will be received on their Sprout HR mobile application through push notification.
If a user's device is not registered, they will be prompted to install and log in to the Sprout HR devices.
After logging in to the Sprout HR mobile application, the user will receive an OTP push notification. The OTP will be a 5-digit code from Sprout HR web application.
Validating the OTP
After receiving the OTP on the mobile application, the user can type the OTP on the OTP page in the Sprout HR web application.

1. How many attempts is the client allowed to generate the OTP?
- The default attempt (and minimum attempt) is 5 but the number of attempts to generate the OTP can be configured through CRF.
2. How long does an OTP expire?
- The default expiry duration (and minimum duration) is 5 minutes. This can also be configured through CRF.
