What is a Password Manager?
The Sprout Ecosystem’s Password Manager is part of the User Management module that allows administrators to set temporary passwords for employees who cannot reset their password in case a need for a new password arises.
How does it work?
An admin can access the User Management module via the Ecosystem Platform.
Under the Security Tab, the admin can select EDIT in the Manage Password selection.
Admins can now set a temporary password that follows the password criteria. In any case the password is similar to the last 2 passwords, an error message would be displayed.
After clicking SAVE, the set password would be the new password of the employee and shall be the password for all SSO applications.
Upon logging in, the user shall be redirected to set a new password.
Getting Access
Sprout HR is a prerequisite for having the Ecosystem Platform. You may reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you’d like to know more and activate this module for your account.
Limitations
There are still a few limitations to the Password Manager for User Management:
- This is only available in the Ecosystem Platform, in addition, this is limited to SSO on clients.
- Redirecting to set a new password is not yet available in the Ecosystem Platform.
