Every once in a while, an employee has to render work on a holiday or rest day to meet business demands. This is specially true for non-exempt employees in the retail or hospitality businesses. In these common cases, an employer may require their employees to provide service half day during a vacation, weekend, or other periods when full staffing is not necessary.
For these situations, you might be wondering how to set up a half day schedule for flexible per day employees. As of the moment, the definition of flexible is still blurred as the policy varies per company.
In Sprout HR, what can be done for flexible per day employees if they are required to work half day on a holiday or a rest day? Will they incur late or undertime minutes?
As of the moment, there is no feature in the system that would allow flexible per day employees to work half day without incurring late or undertime minutes. However, you can:
(1) Turn off the policy that permits the system to deduct late and undertime minutes during work rendered on a rest day or holiday. If you'd like to set this up on Sprout HR, kindly email experts@sprout.ph.
(2) When processing payroll, you can edit or zero out the value under the undertime column on Sprout Payroll. This can be done under set-up --> attendance. You can check out the image below for reference:
I hope this information helps!
