Before you attempt to process the 13th-month pay for a specific rank-and-file employee, you would have to consider the number of working days he or she has rendered during the calendar year.
Under Presidential Decree No. 851, all rank-and-file employees that have rendered service for at least one month (30 or 31 days) should receive 13th-month pay regardless of the way his wages are paid or the nature of his employment.
If the company would like to provide 13th-month pay to an employee who has worked for less than 30 days, the 13th-month pay should be added as a one-time adjustment. In order for it to reflect correctly, make sure the adjustment type is tagged as Bonus. For a step-by-step process on how this can be done, please click here.
