With the Organization Chart on Sprout HR, administrators are able to easily identify and picture the structure of their organization. Much of Sprout's structure of policies revolve around the setup of the company's organization chart. Though the actual chart itself may seem daunting at first glance, setting this up is definitely easier said than done!
"How", you ask? Simple, it is automatically set up whenever you assign an Immediate Supervisor in the Employee Profile!
Let's take a look at a sample scenario below:
Andrew Price started a new job at Salem & Co. with his immediate supervisor being Arielle Lopez. When their Sprout HR administrator created his account, he set Ms. Lopez as his Immediate Supervisor as seen below. (Employee Profile > Work Information)
Ms. Lopez, being the HR Manager, reports to Sabrina Salem who is the owner of the company. With this, Ms. Salem will be listed as the Immediate Supervisor in Ms. Lopez's Employee Profile.
When Ms. Salem views their Organization Chart (Company > Organization Chart), it would appear as below:
In the event that Mr. Andrew Price transfers to another department and is assigned a different immediate supervisor, the Organization Chart would reflect as follows:
- If there are multiple sub-companies in your Sprout HR account, you would only be able to view the organization of the company set in your Employee Profile (Employee Profile > Work Information).
But what if Andrew's Immediate Supervisor is from a different company? Then he would no longer be included in the branches of the Organization Chart (as seen below).
The same structure would show if an employee is transferred from one company to another, and the Immediate Supervisor has not yet been updated.
That's about it! Pretty simple, isn't it?
