There will be times when Employees will forget the passwords that they are using to access their Payroll Accounts or even the Payslips sent to their respective emails.
Prompts similar to the examples below are implemented by Sprout to ensure that only those with correct credentials are able to access the system.
There are two ways on how this dilemma can be addressed:
- Employees may reset their passwords via email. Here's how: How Do I Reset My Sprout Payroll Password? (Please note that this applies for synced and not synced accounts)
- As an Admin, you may change the password of your Employees via Sprout Payroll. (Please note that this applies for accounts that are not yet synced only)
Synced means any changes in the Sprout HR Profile of the Employee automatically reflect in Sprout Payroll as well. There's no need for you to worry if both modules display the same information.
As for the accounts that are not synced, it is the exact opposite of Synced Accounts. This means that there's a need for you to apply the changes made in Sprout HR to Sprout Payroll.
If in case your account is not yet synced, you may proceed with Option 2! Continue to read this KB article as this will show you how.
But first, make sure that you have access to edit Employee Information based on your Role-Based Access. You may refer to this KB article to know more: What is Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)?
Here’s a step by step process on how to change Sprout Payroll Password via Employee Profile:
In your Sprout Payroll Account, click the Employees tab
Click the Edit Button
Under Employee Information > Input the new password.
Note: It would be best to make use of a combination of capital and lowercase letters as well as numbers and some special characters. The password strength should at least be Strong or Very Strong.
Once done, click the Update button at the bottom part of the page to apply changes.
Note: Resending of payslips via email must be done after updating the password to ensure that employees are able to view and access their payslips using the new password made.
