Email Notification for Reviewers & Approvers

Background

Most of the reviewers and approvers of Payroll Runs in Sprout Payroll are not power users of the system. They just check the system in order to audit the amount of earnings and deductions to the employees.

Due to this scenario, they requested to have an email notification if a Payroll Run is pending for their review or approval.

What’s New?

Reviewer and Approver user roles will be receiving an email notification if they enabled these triggers through Access Control.

Access Control

User can select which Payroll Run status that the role will receive the following email notification:

• For Review - the payroll run needs to be reviewed
• Reviewing - if multiple reviewers are added in the system, other reviewers will be informed that someone is reviewing the Payroll run.
• For Approval - payroll run is pending for approval.
• Approved
• Unpost - trigger an email that someone unposted the payroll run

Payroll Run Status

Payroll Run status is now displayed in the dropdown, each user who has permission to update the status will see the dropdown and will be able to change it to different statuses.

• Reviewing
• For Approval
• Approved
• Unpost

EMAIL NOTIFICATION:

For multiple users with the Reviewer role, all other reviewers will be notified that a user is already reviewing the payroll run.
