Filing an Official Business (OB) is akin to filing a Certificate of Attendance (COA). The main difference is that the OB is filed as proof for when an employee does his work outside the walls of the office. The COA, meanwhile, serves as proof that the employee reported for work on a certain day, only that some mishap may have happened with the biometric device. Furthermore, an approved COA reflects on the Attendance Management page, while an approved OB does not. However, an approved OB is equivalent to biologs for any given day. You can easily file for OB through Sprout HR, and the request will go to your supervisor immediately. Here are the two ways on how you can do it:
Via the My Stuff panel on the Dashboard
- Under the My Stuff panel, click Apply and select Official Business.
-
Input the correct details by choosing the date and time range, inputting the location, and indicating the purpose for having the OB.
- Attach a proof of OB, if any.
-
Click the Submit button, and a notification message will appear if your application was submitted successfully.
Via My Requests/Approvals tab in the Dashboard
-
Click the My Requests/ Approvals tab and select My Official Businesses from the drop-down list that appears.
- Select the + icon beside My Request.
- Input the correct details by choosing the date and time range of OB, inputting the location, and indicating the purpose of the OB.
- Attach a proof of OB, if any.
- Click Submit and a notification message will appear if your application was submitted successfully.
