Perhaps then, there is some value to being informed about the organizational structure of one’s company – if not in its entirety, then at the very least some form of cursory understanding of how departments and employees are arranged. Fortunately, the organization chart of a company is readily available for viewing via the Sprout HR dashboard. The steps below detail the process of how this can be done. Let’s take a look at them.
1. Under the Company tab on the dashboard, click on Organizational Chart from the drop-down list.
2. This will take you to the graphic presentation of the company's organizational chart. Naturally, those on the uppermost part of the chart (those top-level employees who report only to the mandate of the office they hold) are the first ones to be displayed. You can click on the plus sign below the name of the employee and it will display the names of employees who report directly to them.
3. As you keep clicking on the plus sign underneath the names which appear successively from each click, the chart expands in scope. You can then click on the zoom in and zoom out buttons on the upper right hand portion of the chart to adjust your viewing accordingly.
4. Moreover, if you want to have a hard copy of this, you can click on the Print button beside the zoom in and zoom out buttons.
5. You can also search for a specific employee and find out where they are placed within the organizational chart. To do this, input the name or keyword on the Search field. If there is more than 1 suggestion for your keyword, you may either click the Previous or Next buttons as necessary.
