Managing user permissions is a crucial aspect of maintaining security and efficiency in any payroll system. However, many users may wonder why "Payroll-Only Access" is not editiable or configurable under the Users tab. This article covers why this restriction exists, how payroll access is managed, and alternative ways to grant secure permissions.
By default, accounts classified as "Payroll only" cannot be edited in the Users tab of Sprout Payroll unless an administrator has specifically requested their activation as "Payroll only" during the Single Sign-On (SSO) activation process. This ensures that access and modifications remain restricted unless explicitly authorized.

Another Payroll-only account but has no access to edit. The word "Edit" has no underline. Hence, not editable.
If a user was not properly converted to a "Payroll only" account, an authorized administrator can submit a Change Request Form to enable editable access for the user. This procedure ensures that user access modifications are managed securely and with the necessary authorization.
