The Cost Center on Sprout Payroll functions as a list of departments for proper tagging during payroll runs but you also have the option to delete them as necessary.
Please note that the employee should be assigned to another cost center first. Once there are no more employees assigned to the cost center you wish to delete, you can already proceed by following these easy steps below:
1. Hover the arrow over Setup > Company then click Cost Centers.
2. You will see the list of your Cost Centers here.
3. Click Delete then OK.
For fully-synced accounts, you can only delete Cost Center/s in Sprout Payroll. Once deleted, it will no longer appear in the dropdown selection in Employee Profile > Current Payroll Information > Employment Details. See the sample below:
