A Leave Type refers to the different categories or reasons for which an employee can take time off from work. These categories help employers track and manage employee absences.
Companies can create additional or customized leave types based on their policies or specific needs, like Birthday Leave or Study Leave, depending on their internal regulations.
In Sprout, we have a feature that allows users to create additional leave types and rename them according to the company’s internal policies.
Please note that default leave plans, such as VL and SL, cannot be modified. However, for standard leave plans, like your new leave type, you can follow the instructions below.
Leave Type may be renamed upon creation of Leave
1. Go to your Sprout HR Account>Maintenance>Compan
2. Click the Leave Type and Policy
3. Input the Leave Type Name based on your company policy
Once a leave type is saved and finalized, you won't be able to rename it on your end. If you need to change the name, you can submit a Change Request Form (CRF) for our Engineering team to review and process accordingly.
Kindly provide the following on the CRF:
- Company Name
- Leave Type Name
- Old plan name and new plan name
Note: Default leave plans, such as the ones listed below, cannot be renamed.
- Birthday Leave
- Maternity Leave
- Paternity Leave
- Sick Leave
- Vacation Leave
- Bereavement Leave
- Magna Carta Leave
- Solo Parent Leave
- Violence Against Women and Children Leave
