In Sprout HR, we do have a module we call Approval Level. Here, we can set who we prefer to approve the employee's application aside from the Level 1 Approver (which by default is the employee's assigned Immediate Supervisor).
Assuming that the Approval Flow is set to Sequential. This means that the Approval should go through all set approvers. And, the last name in the Approval Level is the one who should finally approve the application. In this case, it's the last Approver.
In the given scenario, what should we do if the last Approver is not available at the moment to final approve the employee's application?
Approval Flow: Sequential
Approver Level 1: Manager 1
Approver Level 2: Manager 2 (Not available)
Resolution:
You may add the name of Manager1 as well under Approver Level 2 together with Manager 2. Go to Maintenance> Company> Approval Levels. Please refer to the images below:
Once done, you may advise the employee to update the application so that the application's approver will be updated as well and the Immediate Supervisor can finally approve the application.
