Approval levels on Sprout HR indicate the flow of people who are tasked to approve attendance request forms including Certificates of Attendance, Overtimes, Leaves, and other such filings. On Sprout, these approval levels can be managed and configured via the Maintenance tab on the navigation bar, by clicking on Company, and selecting Approval Levels.
The flow of approval can be set as either Sequential or Parallel. To understand better the difference between the two, check this out: Sequential vs. Parallel Approval Level Flow
Choose whether you want to use the parallel or sequential flow.
This will be applied to the company as a whole.
In addition to this, the approval levels can be managed by any of these 3 options:
1. Default
- The approval levels set here will apply to all employees whose approval levels are neither managed by department nor managed by employee.
2. Manage by Department
- The approval levels set here will apply to all employees under the selected department unless a specific employee is managed separately.
3. Manage by Employee
- The approval levels set here will apply to the specific employee selected.
Once done selecting the approval flow and managing the approval levels, do not forget to save the changes made.
Note: that whenever there are changes in the approval levels, the existing pending applications of the employees will still follow the previous approval levels. Thus, the changes made will only apply to new applications submitted.
