On the left side of the leave application page, the employee will be informed of the number of both his available and current leave credits. It is important that an employee knows the difference between these two for him to understand the breakdown of his leave -- how many days will be paid and how many will be unpaid, if any.
Let's understand the two types better:
Available Leave Credits - These are the credits that an employee can use. This means the leaves are not yet used in any pending or approved leave applications.
Current Leave Credits - These consist of Available Leave Credits and those credits for leaves that are still pending for approval. Hence, Current Leave Credits should either be greater than or at least equal to the number of Available Credits, never less.
For example, the employee currently has 5 leave credits. Then he files for a new leave today, still subject for approval. If he tries to apply for a new leave application, then his Available and Current Leave Credits will be displayed as such:
