An employee’s logs per shift should be within the threshold so that these will correctly reflect on the attendance report. Otherwise, the attendance report will show either “No Logs” or will reflect an incorrect login/out.
To ensure that correct logs are showing on the attendance report, the employee must have an approved schedule adjustment that covers both pre-shift and post-shift thresholds. For more details on thresholds, you may refer to this article - How Do Pre-Shift & Post-Shift Thresholds Work?
Schedule Type – Normal Shift
Shift Hours – 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Biometric Logs:
7:30 AM – IN
3:00 AM (next day) – OUT
- This will reflect “No Logs” on the attendance report.
- Hence, an employee must have an approved schedule adjustment from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM to ensure that logs are within both the pre-shift (6 hours) and post-shift (8 hours) threshold.
- Once schedule adjustment has been approved, attendance report will now correctly reflect 7:30 AM – 3:00 AM as his logs for the shift.
- Then, an employee may file an Early OT from 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM, and a Normal OT from 7:00 PM – 3:00 AM.
Example 2
Schedule Type – Flexible per Day
Core Hours – 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Biometric Logs:
7:30 AM – IN
11:30 AM – OUT
12:30 PM – IN
6:00 PM – OUT
7:00 PM – IN
3:00 AM (next day) – OUT
- This will reflect as 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM on the attendance report.
- Hence, the employee must have an approved schedule adjustment from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM (these are the adjusted core hours, instead of 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM) to ensure that logs are within both the pre-shift (6 hours) and post-shift (12 hours) threshold.
- Once schedule adjustment has been approved, attendance report will now correctly reflect 7:30 AM – 3:00 AM as his logs for the shift.
- Since the employee is on flexible per day schedule, his shift actually ends at 4:30 PM which is the 9th hour after his shift started at 7:30 AM. With this, he may file a Normal OT from 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM.
