There are times when employees need to render a Working Rest Day at home. Sometimes they even have to work beyond their scheduled rest day shift. As such, necessary applications should be filed in order to get the premium rate.
If you’ll be working overtime at home on a rest day here are the things you need to file for approval:
1. First, apply a Schedule Adjustment
It will be under pending applications of your approver. Make sure the Rest Day (bed icon) is ticked. The hours rendered within the scheduled time will be compensated with a Rest Day Premium.
In this example, the employee’s schedule was adjusted to 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
2. Then, apply for a Certificate of Attendance (You can also apply for an Official Business); for the purposes of this, the two tantamount to the same thing.
The log in and log out should be the actual hours the employee started and ended working.
In this example, the employee logged in at 7:00 AM and logged out at 8:00 PM.
3. Lastly, file for the Overtime
In this example, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM will be applied as Rest Day OT.
Hours beyond the scheduled time will be paid as Rest Day OT Premium (If the application is approved by your approver).
