It may happen that despite the fact that an employee filed for an approved ordinary overtime, it still does not reflect on the attendance report. A situation like this could affect their pay and show a discrepancy on their attendance metrics. So how can you make sure your attendance report is accurate and in line with OT applications approved? A handy thing to remember are the Three A’s: Application, Approval, Actual Logs
For your convenience, I’ll give a clear explanation of the Three A’s; how you can check each to be sure your overtime qualifies and in what kind of scenarios it could apply.
Application for Overtime
A question we will explore here is whether you filed your requested overtime properly within HR Sprout. Firstly, you click on Apply under the My Stuff panel and select Overtime from the drop down list that appears. Second, you have to input the correct details by choosing the date of overtime, selecting the OT classification and indicating the task/purpose of the OT.

Approval
As soon as you have finished inputting all the information in your application for OT, you click to submit it for approval. It’s very important for the OT to be approved before your shift where you require to work overtime. If it is not approved, the system will not recognize the log out beyond the regular shift schedule.

Actual Biometric Logs
When we talk of biometrics, we look at the different biological features of a person that a system can use to support an algorithm for validation and security purposes. Some features we can consider for biometric evaluation include the voice, the face, retina, iris, one's gait, and most especially, one's fingerprint. The biometric device is an instrument that records and validates one's biometrics to allow entry to a certain area or to confirm the identity of a person. On Sprout, the biometric device is a central asset that we use to confirm attendance.
You can find out what your exact biometrics are by clicking on the drop-down button beside the name of your profile. Select My Biologs from the list that appears.
In our case, you have to check out your exact biometrics to find out whether you complied with the overtime that you filed for. It may happen that you forgot to log out, accidentally logged in twice or logged out twice (in the latter case the system will not recognize this and consider you absent for the day).
In the case that you were present but accidentally logged out twice or forgot to log in at the start of your shift, it is advised to file for a Certificate of Attendance (COA) request with your immediate supervisor so that your work hours will be reflected in the attendance report.
