Did you know that the system can automatically tag an employee as Absent in the Attendance Report even if they have logs?
If the Auto-AWOL is enabled, the employee will be tagged as Absent if his logs are less than his half-day shift. To identify the exact half-day shift, get the required hours to work (less break) / 2.
Sample #1:
Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Schedule Type: Normal Shift
Break: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Half-day: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM; 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
A. Logs:
8:00 AM IN; 12:00 PM OUT
Normally, you will see the Late and Undertime minutes of the employee like the one below:
B. Logs:
8:00 AM IN; 11:59 AM OUT
However, if his logs are less than his half-day shift, he will be tagged as Absent and the Late and Undertime will no longer appear in the Attendance Report. See below:
Sample #2:
Core hours: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Required hours to work including break: 9
Schedule Type: Flexible Schedule per Day
Logs:
10:00 AM IN
For a Flexible schedule, the basis of the Half-Day shift is the Core Hours. With our sample, the first half is from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second half is 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
A. Logs:
10:00 AM IN; 12:00 PM OUT
Like in Normal Shift, the Undertime is noted in the Attendance:
B. Logs:
10:00 AM IN; 11:59 AM OUT
Based on his required hours to work and log in, this employee must log out at 7:00 PM to complete the 9 hours of shift.
Since the sample employee logged out less than half of the shift (12:00 PM), he is automatically tagged as Absent with no late/undertime minutes:
Note:
This can be enabled/disabled per Employee Type (Rank and File, Manager, or Officer).
