The Birthday Leave

 

One of the more important holidays in an individual's personal life happens on her birthday. On Sprout, we help make it possible for an employee to file for a leave in order for her to celebrate her birthday. 

 

Let's learn more about this particular leave type. 

 

Unlike most other leave types on Sprout, Birthday leave credits are not automatically accrued, rather, manually given up front preferably at the start of the year. There, is however, the option to have it accrue automatically, but the options for this are not as varied compared to other leave types. Normally, employees are only given one credit under the Birthday Leave every year. It is upto the company, however, to decide how many to give their employees based on their policy. 

 

Let's take a look at each kind of setup: 

 

1. Automated

 

 

In this scenario, the birthday leave credit is set at 1, and is allowable for use within the birthday month of the employee concerned. 

 

You can also choose to convert unused Birthday leaves into Vacation leaves:

 

 

 

Of course, don't forget to click the Save button once you're done. 

 

2. Manual

 

Here, you can only adjust upto how many days after an employee's birthday in which he can use the leave credit.
