Do you have any Leave Types that you no longer need? It's a good thing that we have a way in Sprout HR to deactivate these leave types.
In this article, we will discuss how to do this.
Follow the steps below:
1. Go to Maintenance > Company
2. Select the company
3. Go to Leave Types and Policies
4. Go to your Active Leave Types and click Deactivate
5. Click Yes to confirm
Notes:
- You will see all inactive leave types at the bottom of the page and you have to option to activate them again.
- If there are leave types that are still pending approval on an inactive leave plan and the approver decided to approve or reject them, he will see this error prompt. If you try to resend or cancel it, the page will be unresponsive. With this, all leave applications must be approved or canceled before the Admin decided to deactivate the Leave plans.
- If the employee tries to edit an Inactive Leave Type, it will no longer be available in the drop-down options.
- Canceling the inactive type on the employee's side will be successful.
- If the Leave Type is activated again, the previous accrual, accrual for upcoming months, and leave applications will reflect in the leave ledger. If there are new policies on the leave type, they will take effect on the effective date.
- Once deactivated, the leave type can no longer be extracted on the Leave Report and Import Leave Credits template.
- A leave plan within a leave type will automatically be deactivated once the Leave Type is deactivated. There is also no Deactivate button for the leave plans.
